I left Springfield, MO early this morning and encountered considerable wind for the rest of the day. I'm glad I have 27,000 pounds of cargo in the trailer so it didn't move around as much as it would have if it was empty. When I unload tomorrow I hope the run to the next place to load is very short, or the wind abates.
Today I passed through Eureka, MO (Eureka, CA being my hometown) and both Springfield, MO and Springfield, IL. I'm holed up in the Flying J truckstop in Davenport, IA about 3 miles from my delivery point. I'm familiar with the truckstop, as it is across the way from a John Deere distribution center I stayed at a month or so ago waiting on a load that turned out to be Hazmat, which I don't haul.
